In Tamil Nadu, even beggar-devotees routinely make the circuit to these six (Tirupparankundram, Tiruchendur, Palani, Swami Malai, Tiruttani and Palamuthirsolai) temples and to many other famous temples sacred to Murugan and other great deities.
